Amish woman raking hay
Over the years I've heard the debate about women in the workplace. Here is a woman in the workplace. Raking hay. I doubt there are lots of people, men or women who will desire this job. It's hot. It's dirty. And I'm guessing since you are at the south end of a north bound work horse... its smelly.
Since she is Amish what do you suppose she is getting paid. I'm guessing "pay" is out of the question. She is doing her part for the family. What you don't see in the picture is two other teams of horses. One is also raking and another has the hay baler behind it (but it isn't baling yet). They are a family. A team. Working together to accomplish a task that needs done.
